Workshop in Scotland!

Scottish Workshop: Inchmahome Priory Painting Day

One of the delights of the upcoming Scottish Highlands Workshop will be a visit to Inchmahome Priory,  on an island in the Lake of Menteith.

We'll catch the small ferry--12 passengers--from the Port of Menteith, crossing to the island for a morning of painting. We'll have a picnic at lunchtime, and we'll either spend the afternoon on the island, too, or head back to the Port, to paint the lake and the church. It figures to be a great day.

The five year-old Mary, Queen of Scots, was spirited away to Inchmahome by her mother, Mary of Guise, to protect her during a difficult time in English-Scots history, a period called The Rough Wooing.

More information about Inchmahome from the Historic Scotland website.
